My Take on the 2009 Nuffnang Bloggers Awards

October31

IMG_1062

MUAHAHAHA… ok so you’ve probably read many blogs on how the NNAwards went… and so here is my version. *wink*

You can definitely say that I was there to really party it up. Seriously, what mum wouldn’t when you’ve been shipped off for 5 days without your little totters chewing on your ankles and them gnawing on your ears asking ” I’m bored…What can I do now?”. I decided that I was really going to take this opportunity to kick up my feet, relax… and most of all… ENJOY.

Firstly, before I move on to the pics :) I have to warn you some of them were quite blurry… and well… as you read on, you’ll know why *wink* hehehe.

Ok, if you are intending to go interstate, or overseas by plane for a week, I suggest that you pack your car and park at LONG TERM parking at the Melbourne Airport. It only costs $69 for a week, but definitely check out their prices because it works out WAY cheaper than taking a cab there and back.

IMG_1023

YES I took a photo so that we knew where we parked after our trip, just incase I killed all my brain cells partying too hard.

IMG_1025

Thursday night we arrived. Thursday night, we ate. Frogs legs to be exact. Sorry not food pics. I was WAY to hungry that I just wanted to gobble up frog legs and ginger congee. Frogs legs are a bit like fish meets chicken.  (Hehehe… sorry I’m no food blogger)

IMG_1027

We were nicely put up at Ritz Carlton Hotel (Thank you TIM and MING!), and after an ok sleep, morning came and we were on a hunt for Bak Kut Teh for breakfast… Chinese STYLE! YUMO!

IMG_1030

Dave made an interesting observation. Asians LOVE meat off the bone, while other people like the chunky bits. MEAT OFF the bone for me thanks! Hmm… I so need to have some Bak Ku Teh now…

IMG_1031

Liver and kidney… yummm…..

IMG_1034

Then it was off to Mustafa for abit of retail therapy. This is a 24hr store that sold EVERYTHING. From food, to shoes, accessories, sunnies and ofcoarse…

IMG_1035

…golden elephants.

Then it was back to the hotel for a little rest and to doll up for the BIG NUFFNANG AWARDS.

IMG_1045

This is us having a drink at the hotel before we were nicely escorted by Ester; a  Singapore Nuffy.

IMG_1047

Time to get jiggy with it and scoot.

IMG_1048

All the formalities were kinda making me itchy. Seriously, I am too much of a monkey to sit still…

IMG_1051

…as you can see…

IMG_1052

Early pics with the Aussie Bloggers. Aussie Aussie Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi! If you were there on the night, you probably heard some crazy girl squeeling every time an Oz blog came up on the videos. That would be me. If you’ve seen a video stream of the night itself during the presso with the nominated bloggers, if you listen carefully… you’ll here a squeel… yes THAT WAS ME.

Now, you see as the night went on, I had more vodka shots. The more vodka shots… my vision was a little more like this…

IMG_1054

Hotties!

IMG_1057

That’s right… I even did it with the Malaysian bloggers, and Mr. Kruppy. I HEART you guys!

IMG_1058

I got to sit on the VIP table with deary Auds, and being RIGHT in front of the stage, I reckon that Alan Wu was digging the crazy girl on the front table because everytime he said “Drum roll please…”, I felt like he eyeballed me like it was my cue to go nutters banging on my table!

WOOT WOOT… Alan, you need a co-host for Amazing Race!! Pick mE!

IMG_1076

Um… a few more vodka shots…  but still standing here with the Aussie food bloggers…or atleast trying to take a picture of them anyway…

IMG_1089

And lastly, the Entire Nuffnang Team.

This is just ONE part of many to come on the 2009 Nuffnang Awards. I really should head off to bed to prep up for more house moving tomz morning.

Love love, and check in again for the next post on how I managed to continue partying, rolled out of bed, schlepped the Uniquely Singapore Tour, and then party up more.

Also, I’ll have the “goss” interesting facts on the each of the Aussie Bloggers, in posts to come. Afterall, not only are they all super bloggers, but they are all human, and VERY REAL.

My New BABY!!

April23

OK, no don’t freak out. I haven’t had my baby (yet)… though yesterday… I swear I thought I was in early labour because for a good two hours my stomach was churning in intervals… but it turns out… I HAD super bad-ass gas. Lol… my poor family had to tolerant my moaning and groaning and in-between giant farting that literally SCARED Missy A. Everytime she came into the room to get something, she’d quickly ask me… ” Please mummy… just wait first.. don’t fart just yet…” hahaha…

Anyway… THE other BABY I am talking about is my new website! If you have been following my recents posts, I have been making headbands and rings as part of my PRAM FUND. Well, I found this quite ineffective because people had to know about it to navigate through to the post to see them… so I started another one just PURELY for selling my little handmade goodies.

http://arielleantoinette.blogspot.com

I’ve just put a few more headbands so do go visit and have a look. I will also be putting up cufflinks in the next few days too, so do have a browse and let me know what you thinks! Also if you like what you see, and think of someone who may like it too, do forward it to them and help out a fellow internet bud.

Cheers and Thanking you in advance! Go… Shop!… Go… Buy!…

February2

Speaking to a few other bloggers from the Nuffnang meetup and also through blog hopping, I realised that I don’t have much of a structure to my blog. BLEH…. I like it that way… :) its unpredictable what I will be writing each day….(random Thought).

Anyway, as one of my “New Years Resolution”… I am going to use my blog as a spot for accountability. My resolution is …” To wake up early and be productive with my time”. Simple right? So… to be accountable to… I am going to take a picture every morning… at 10:07. I’ve set an alarm on my phone, and so where ever I am, whatever I am doing, whoever I am with… each day (hopefully), I will have a pic for what I am doing at 10:07. Hmm… did you ever wonder what bloggers REALLY do with their time??

Wish me luck!

Prestige Liquid Review

January27

HAH! I have never really used liquid eyeliners before only because… Hmmm.. I dunno… they just seem so daunting to use. I have been using Revlon, or was it L’Oreal??? Um.. I think Revlon… eyeliners only because it had this sign that said “The World’s most popular eyeliner”… and well, ofcoarse I have to be part of the so called ‘popularity’ and well because it costs alot… you’d think that they would be good right? (lol… don’t worry… I don’t understand my logic sometimes either…)

Anyway… just before the Nuffnang meet-up, Alethea and I decided to go search for a liquid eyeliner… from KMART. All the convenience of having all the off the shelf, cheaper range cosmetics all in one section.

I’ve never heard of Prestige before but because we just wanted to play around, we tried ALL the liquids we could try. So you can imagine… my hand looked like a mini zebra at the end of the exercise. hehehe… we tried on so many that even the stupid Kmart lady looked around the corner and decided to tell us off thinking we were opening the packages just to try them out. Seriously… I was fat, pregnant, with my 4 year daughter and sister…. I was so pissed off that she’d think of telling me off!!! BLEH! … Grrrrr.. COW! I’M NOT THAT DUMB TO KNOW THAT YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSE TO OPEN THE PACKS JUST TO TRY!!!!!

Woooosssssaaaa….

Anyway… FOCUS!

OK…. Liquid liners are not too bad I have to say. It makes so much more of a defined line and its just seriously so easy to apply. Its like hmmm compare using a crayon compared to a texta.

Woohoo… I’m glad to then announce that I now have my liquid eyeliner license. Like a pen license. I’ve been upgraded from pencil/crayon to pen! Woot Woot!

Mind you… I find that liquid is great for the top but too harsh for the bottom – hence the cotton bud in the pic. With Prestige… its not exactly waterproof, so it rubs off… kinda like a 6B pencil lead, so I used a cotton bud to soften the line for the bottom lashes (my non-existent ones…).

Lol.. ok its not very even but you get the point right?

I like it anyway. It has been so easy that I ALMOST… I say ALMOST put it on everyday.OH… and it only costed $14.95 ( I think… its mid-range anyway so it won’t blow your wallet up).

Note to self: Time to get your eyebrows managed….. BLEh….

A Step into Maternity WEAR!

November16

THAT’S right! I DID IT!!! After my agro shopping experience at Camberwell Market, we went to Chadstone, and I forced myself to atleast HAVE a look. In the end…

I got a pair of jeans. I got over it… I guess… BUT I HAVE to admit…

AS bloody shallow as it is… um… atleast they’re tagged XS :)

Sunday shopping

November16

I have clearly ‘outgrown’ all my current clothes so today we made a trip to Camberwell Markets today. YIPPEEE… I thought… but as I rumaged through other people’s clothes… I got more annoyed because I really didn’t quite know my current size, and nor would I want to buy something that I may outgrow… in a few weeks! I felt like such a tight ass and the longer we were there, the more upset I got. (Hormones?? hehehe) Anyway… I wore this. A skirt I bought at Camberwell say a good 9 months ago not realising… it was too big. :) so it has all worked out well.
